Vampire in the school
The spooky and funny adventure film Vampire in the School, based on the book by Paul van Loon, begins with Jacko, who has to stay with his strange, forgetful grandfather. He warns Jacko that there is a vampire at his school who bites children: Varlok. Jacko doesn’t believe it, because vampires don’t exist—right? Until his best friend Edje suddenly starts behaving very strangely and joins the ever-growing group of bullies at school who all wear sunglasses: The Sunglasses Gang.
To win their friend back, Jacko and his other best friend Noémie must find out who the vampire Varlok is. With riddles, garlic water, and staying true to their friendship, they must prevent him from taking Edje and all the other children to the realm of shadows during the Great Spooky Gala. Luckily, they receive help from an unexpected source…

We are looking for kids (6-11 years old) for different roles in Vampire in the School. From brave heroes to jokers to vampires. You automatically audition for all roles at once, and the director ultimately chooses who fits best for which role.
Whether you play one of the main characters, belong to the sunglasses gang, or dance at the Great Spooky Gala—everyone has a chance to participate!
Jacko
The brave adventurer
Jacko is brave, curious, and always ready for adventure. But secretly, he’s also a little embarrassed by his strange family and friends.
Noémie
Cheerful and kind
Noémie is smart, chaotic, and sweet. Thanks to her, the friend group stays together.
Edje
King of the Riddles
Edje is loyal, funny, and knows all the riddles by heart. But he gets bitten by Varlok and suddenly starts behaving strangely.
The Sunglasses Gang
The cool bullies
The sunglasses gang is cool and the boss at school. But they are also bullies. Could they be vampires?

The monsters of the party
The kids at the Great Spooky Gala are dressed up as scary monsters. They are enchanted by Varlok but later also join our main characters in the party.

Fill out the form, send in your details, and you will receive an email from us with an invitation to audition. You will get three fun tasks to complete. You will submit these as a YouTube video. Don’t forget that you will also need permission from your parents by that time. Maybe you will get to star in the movie!
Update: unfortunately, the casting is closed! Only if you have been invited by Sanquin Blood Supply, you will get an exclusive final chance up to June 19th. However, anyone can still become a member of the Vampire Hunters Association!

Do you have any questions?
Once you have signed up on this page, you will receive an email with a link to the casting page. There you will find the exact instructions and three tasks (introduce yourself as a vampire hunter, act out a scene, and show a special talent). The idea is to make a video of these tasks, upload it to YouTube (it can be unlisted), and submit it to us through the form on the casting page along with the rest of your details. You don’t need to be nervous: they are really fun tasks!

No, you don’t need any experience! We’re looking for kids who are enthusiastic, creative, and not afraid to try something new. The most important thing is that you have fun and show your unique talent.
You can participate in casting until Juni 19th, 2026, at the latest. After that, you can still join the Association of Vampire Hunters.
You should have already received an email about that! Only if you applied through Sanquin Casting: around June 23, you will receive an email letting you know whether you have been selected. The filming days will most likely be between July 5 and July 8. You will receive confirmation about that later (we’re busy planning everything at the moment!).
If you’re not available then, you are of course never obligated to participate. Beforehand, we will still ask whether you definitely want to and are able to take part if you have been selected. Naturally, you will also need permission from your parents. In short: if you are selected, you will receive a message from us with the next steps.
For the first round, you can record everything at home and submit it online. If you’re selected for a lead role, you’ll be informed if an in-person audition is required.
No, auditioning is free, joining the Vampire Hunters Association is free, and acting in the movie is, of course, free too. The only possible cost is travel expenses to Amsterdam or to the set (locations are not yet determined). Lead roles will receive compensation for this since they’ll need to be there frequently. Unfortunately, we can’t offer compensation for other roles, but we’ll make sure all your days on set are memorable and fun!
If you audition, you’ll send us a video with the audition tasks and have a chance at a role in the film. You’ll then automatically become a member of the Vampire Hunters Association. If you don’t audition but join as a Vampire Hunter, you’ll receive an invitation to the grand premiere when the film is finished, be kept updated on the film’s progress with exclusive news, get a chance to visit the film set, and gain access to secret vampire hunter missions. It’s free, and you’re not obligated to anything.
We are looking for many different roles! That’s why anyone between 6 and 11 years old can audition. Would you like to become a member of the Vampire Hunters Association? Everyone of all ages is welcome to join!
